Weather / summer pattern
A few cooler, less-humid days over the weekend brought a lot of people onto the lake. The back half of the week and into next week look like classic dog days — hot, dry and light wind. Get out early or fish at night to beat the heat; plenty of fish are still available.
White Bass
Summertime pattern is holding. White Bass are still on top of the islands and a little shallower than Jeff expected; Dan confirmed the same shallow White Bass. Jeff caught a bunch on quarter-ounce Dinner Spinners (he posted a short video on the Grand Fishing Report Facebook group). The Sunburst color (orange, chartreuse and chrome) outfished a dark blue/chrome/silver spinner he switched to for photos — the fish were keyed on that bright pattern. Most fish came from gravelly islands and humps around Sailboat Bridge; big fish pulling hard on the cast.
Dinner Spinner
Inline spinner with a blade that turns on the wire for lots of vibration, a minnow-shaped body (helps with line twist) and pulsating marabou on the hook. Looks different in the water than a typical Rooster Tail or Blue Fox.
Bass
Jeff and Patricia tried Sneaky Snake (8-inch curl-tail worm) and a Salty Sink around a bit with no Bass; hard to stay on Bass when the White Bass bite was that good. Boat traffic pushed them off by noon.
Catfish
Drift fishing is strong for Blue Cats and Channel Cats. Start about 15 feet and drift out to 40–45, or reverse it; fish often show in the mid-20s to mid-30s depending on time of day. Shorten drifts once GPS and depth tell you where they are. Jeff also mashed a nice Flathead and caught Blue Cats on Dinner Spinners mixed under the White Bass / Hybrid schools that wound shad.
Paddlefish
Haydn still catching plenty on the upper end; good client photos on the Grand Fishing Report Facebook group. Jeff wants more angler posts and tournament shares there (not buy/sell ads) — Governor’s Island, mid-lake, Sailboat Bridge-type location notes help others without giving away exact spots.
Fish Lucke
Dinner Spinners and new Toby Keith kits at fishlucke.com. Jeff also had a nice Bass in southeast Oklahoma on a Lucky Craw from the Toby Keith Bass kit while working at the Greenwood plant — another longtime brand bait he’s just getting into.
