Upper lake muddier. Banks holding bigger pods in spots then long dry stretches — fewer bank beaters than usual by mid-April; more Live Scope around docks and nearshore brush. East Shangri-La banks empty of bank-walkers (odd vs last five years). Jeff: 1/16 oz Scrounger + 2½" Lucky Bug (split shot ahead in wind) matched slip-bobber + Lucky Bug; Scrounger as search, then slow with bobber. Fast search: 1/16 oz cable-guard + 2½" swimming minnow.
Cats / whites / Paddlefish
Shallow blues on fresh cut bait. Haydn whites in cove backs/points. Inflow coming (rain Iola–Chanute–Carl Junction–Webb City–Joplin area) — lake been stable aside from one ~1½-foot drawdown; expect some rise and muddier upper end.
